Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation have formed the “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” (COMEDK). It has been assigned the task of organizing a common entrance test for the academic year 2020-2021. It is a state level entrance exam through which number of candidates will be offered admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes associated with the consortium.

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka will be conducting COMEDK UGET 2020 on May 10.  The exam will be conducted in online mode where candidates have to answer the questions with multiple-choice answer options. At present, 16 Medical, 24 Dental and around 190 Engineering colleges, are affiliated to COMEDK who make available around 20000 seats. Candidates who are willing to take admission in undergraduate courses in private medical and dental colleges of Karnataka can apply for the COMEDKUGET.

COMEDK UGET 2020 – Eligibility Criteria

For UG Engineering Programmes:

  • Qualifying Exam: Applicant must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Central or State Board or University.
  • Qualifying Subjects: Candidate must have passed with the compulsory subjects of PhysicsMathematicsChemistry and English in the qualifying exam.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have passed with minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for ST/SC/OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in the qualifying exam.

Note: Diploma candidates are not eligible to sit for the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions. 

For UG Architecture Programmes:

  • Qualifying Exam: Applicant must have passed 10+2 Higher Secondary/2nd PUC/10+3 Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized Central or State Board or University.
  • Qualifying Subjects: Candidate must have passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects with other subjects in the qualifying exam.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have passed with minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for ST/SC/OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in the qualifying exam.
  • Applicant must have qualified aptitude test of NATA in 2020 year.

Note: There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course and they shall submit separate application for participation in the Counseling.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Application Form

Step 1: Registration

  • Open the official website of COMEDK i.e. comedk.org and click on the link to get yourself registered on the website.
  • Fill all the required details in the registration form and provide with a valid mobile number and email ID.
  • After you have registered successfully, you will receive a unique email ID and password on your registered mobile number and email ID.

Step 2: Fill Online Application Form

  • Log in with the user ID and password you had received to complete the application process.
  • Fill all the required details in the application form such as personal, academic qualification, test centers etc.

Step 3: Uploading the documents

  • Upload your recent colored photograph (30mm x 45mm) and signature (35mm x 80m) in JPEG format with the maximum file size of 80kb.
  • Applicants are also required to upload the signature of father/guardian and unique Id proof in 80kb and 150 kb formats, respectively.

Step 4: Online Fee Payment

  • After uploading the documents, preview your COMEDK UGET 2020 Application Form by clicking on the “Preview” button and re-verify your application form.
  • Now proceed to make payment by clicking on the payment gateway mode.
  • Payment can be made through Credit card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
  • You can re-login to check the status for the payment.

COMEDK UGET 2020 - Application Fee

Candidates must check the Application form carefully before the fee submission as the fees once paid is non-refundable. Candidates have to pay the application fee online through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI Methods.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Admit Card

Before the online entrance test of COMEDK UGET 2020, the admit card will be made available by the board from May1 to 9, 2020. Candidates must visit the website and download their admit cards. 


Candidates have to follow these steps to download their admit card online –
Step 1: Open the official website and click on the “admit card download” link.
Step 2: Log-in using your unique user Id and password.
Step 3: You will be able to see your admit card on the screen
Step 4: Go through all the details mentioned in the admit card. Download and take printout of the same.

If the candidate fails to produce the admit card on the date of examination, he would not be allowed to take the exam. Candidates also have to carry valid id proof to the examination center for verification purpose. Also, passport size photograph must be attached on the admit card. The candidates are required to keep the admit card as it will be needed in counselling.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Exam Centers

COMEDK UGET 2020 will be conducted in online mode in approx. 140 exam cities across India. The test cities will be allotted to candidates on a first come first serve basis. The candidates can choose and select 3 cities in their order of preference at the time of applying for the exam. Candidates must be careful while setting these preferences since they cannot be changed later.

  • In case of non-availability of slots/centers in your city, you may choose to book a slot in an alternative nearby city from the available list in the Online Application form.
  • If under any circumstances, a test city gets cancelled or is non-available, candidates who had opted for the cancelled city will be allotted a center at another city by COMEDK.
  • COMEDK reserves the right to allot any other examination center other than the preference indicated by the applicant.
  • The allocated center by the COMEDK authorities will be communicated on the online test admission ticket (online TAT).

COMEDK UGET 2020 Syllabus

COMEDK Syllabus includes topics from Class 11th and 12th Science Stream Syllabus. There are 3 sections- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the exam. The candidates who are preparing for the entrance examination can refer to the following important topics.

COMEDK UGET Answer Keys

The board will publish the provisional answer key online on the website on 14th May 2020. Candidates can calculate their marks with the help of answer key and submit challenges/suggestions if any till May 18,2020. For each challenge to the answer key published by the board the candidate will have to pay INR 500. The final answer key shall be published on 22nd May 2020.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Result - (Dates Announced)

The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka will be releasing the COMEDK UGET 2020 result on 26th of May 2020. The result will be available online on the official website of COMEDK in the form of Rank Card that applicants can download using their unique applicant login ID. Candidates should be clear that no hard copies of the result will be dispatched. The result will be declared separately for B. Tech and B.Arch. programmes. Following this, COMEDK shall also release the merit lists for admission to B. Tech/B. Arch, based on the performance of candidates in COMEDK UGET 2020.

 

Below are the steps that show how to download your admin card online:

Step 1: Connect to official link provided by University 

Step 2: Login with your valid credentials – registered email ID and password

Step 3: Select ‘download admit card’ option

Step 4: There will be display admit card on the screen for DU JAT 2020 in PDF format

Step 5: Now, you can download and take the print of the admit card

Note: Candidates who have applied for both, COMEDK and UniGAUGE, shall receive 2 scorecards since the admission process for both is different.

COMEDK UGET 2020 Cut-off

COMEDK UGET 2020 Cut-Off will be declared after result declaration. It is mandatory for the candidates to score the minimum cut-off marks to become eligible for taking admission into the engineering colleges of Karnataka. COMEDK UGET cut-off 2020 will consist of opening and closing ranks. The cut-off list will be separated on the basis of the discipline chosen by the candidates. The cut-off shall also vary depending upon the category the applicant belongs to and reservations and the norms prescribed for the same in the respective institutions.

The cut-off of COMEDK UGET 2020 will vary for each college and course. Candidates must note that the minimum marks secured must meet the cut-off marks of each section along with the overall cut-off marks. These marks will lead them towards the admission and counselling process.

The board has decided on minimum percentage each candidate needs to score in the COMEDK UGET 2020 examination. These percentage will give a rough idea of what percent will lead candidates through the next level of the selection process. Students applying for COMEDK UGET are categorized as –

COMEDK UGET 2020 Counselling

COMEDK will organize a centralized single window counselling for admission into engineering and architecture courses offered by the affiliated colleges of COMEDK. It will begin in the month of June in offline mode. All the counselling related information such as counselling schedule or procedure shall be published on the official site within the prescribed time. It will be held in two rounds and the process will consist of – Registration and Counselling fee payment, Option Entry and locking, Mock Allotment, Seat Allotment and Document Verification. Candidates are required to carry all the required documents on the day of counselling for verification.

Ans 5. KCET is a state entrance exam which offers admissions to the Government colleges and private ones too. COMEDK is the consortium of Medical and Engineering colleges of Karnataka and offers admissions to the courses in the private colleges which are members of the same. Moreover, KCET is for Karnataka students only while COMEDK is open for students all over the country.

Ans 6. No, COMEDK only organizes entrance test for undergraduate engineering and architecture courses. For admission to Medical and Dental Colleges, you can apply for NEET 2020.
