Students must have to qualify the entrance exam, in order to get admission in various programmes under IP University.

 

Indraprastha University, also known IP or IPU or GGSIPU is one of the prestigious university in India IPU was commenced by Govt. of Delhi in 1998 and recognized under UGC Act with Grade “A” from NAAC. For taking admission in IPU, students have to clear an entrance exam, called as IPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test).

IPU CET 2020 Pre-Requisites

Students must have to keep the below documents ready for reference purpose, at the time of filling up the application form:

  • 10th standard mark sheet
  • 12th standard mark sheet
  • Graduation and/or Post-Graduation mark sheet (if available)
  • Aadhaar card (if available)
  • Scanned copies of passport size photograph, signatures and left hand thumb impression.

Note: Candidate must upload a passport sized colour photograph with a white background taken after January 1, 2020.

IPU CET 2020 - Eligibility Criteria

There are certain criteria to fulfil before appearing for the IPU CET 2020 Entrance Examination. However, there are some of the basic eligibility criteria that have to be fulfilled before filling up the form.

    1. Nationality: The candidate applying for the examination has to be an Indian

    2. Age Criteria

    • UG courses: The minimum age limit required is 18 years and maximum age limit is till 21 years.

    • PG courses: The minimum age limit required is 21 years and maximum age limit is till 35 years.

    • Students applying for Bachelor of Vocation should not be above 45 years of age.

    1. Qualification Criteria:

    • Under-Graduate courses: 10+2 board examination or equivalent exam

    • Post-Graduate courses: Graduation Degree from recognized institute

IPU CET 2020 Application fees

Students can fill application for one or more programs. The application form fee will be INR 1000 for each program. The application fee will remain the same for all the category students. 

 

Payment Mode: Students can pay the application fee only through online mode i.e. debit/credit card or net banking.

 

Note: IPU doesn’t have any offline mode for paying application fees.

The candidate can go through following step by step procedure while applying for IPU CET 2020:

 

IPU CET 2020 Reservation Criteria

As per the reservation policy, 85% of the total seats will be reserved for students belonging to Delhi region & the rest 15% seats will be offered to the outside Delhi region students.

SC/ST category or PWD category students will be given 5% extra relaxation of marks in minimum eligibility required.

IPU CET 2020 Marking Scheme

  • Students will get 4 marks for every correct answer

  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted

  • Total marks for IPU CET 2020 is 600.

IPU CET 2020 Syllabus

The IPU CET 2020 syllabus will vary for different programmes. For Under-graduate courses, the syllabus will be from 10+2 level topics and for Post-graduate courses, the syllabus will be from graduation level topics.

Candidates must check the syllabus for various courses through online mode from the information catalogue.

For B.Tech (Bio-technology) Programme:

IPU CET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card of IPU CET 2020 will be available online, just before 5 days from the date of entrance exam. Students can easily download the admit card using their login id and password. One the candidate download the admit card, he/she required to attach a passport size photograph on it.

Students will be able to download the admit card, a few days prior to the entrance test. Students must keep their admit card secure until the admission procedure gets over.

 

No admit card will be sent all the way through post or any other offline mode. With the admit card, students must bring their valid id proof on the exam day. Request of copy of duplicate admit card will not be considered by the University.

IPU CET 2020 Exam Pattern

The Exam Pattern for the IPU CET entrance exams changes from time to time for different courses. Given below are the highlights of this year’s exam pattern: 

 

  • Exam Mode and Date: IPU CET 2020 for different courses will be held in April-May 2020 in offline mode.

  • Type of Questions: Questions asked in the paper will be objective.

  • Number of Questions: Total of 150 questions will be there in the B.Tech exam.

  • Language medium: Exam will be available in medium language of English.

  • Time Duration: B.Tech will be of 2.5 hrs and other courses are of 3 hrs.

  • Total Marks: Exam will be of total 600 marks.

  • Marking Scheme: Will get 4 marks for correct answer. 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer.

IPU CET 2020 Result

IPU CET 2020 Result will be available online by entering the login details. The exam result will be declared at different dates for different courses.

 

Students can download their scorecard/merit list through online mode. In case, any student has any distrust about their result, they can view their OMR sheet by paying certain amount of fee.

IPU CET 2020 Cut off

The University will position IPU CET 2020 cut off marks on the basis of different factors – Level of difficulty of the test, marking scheme, number of seats, total number of students appeared, last year cut-off, etc.

 

 

It will be released for All India level, Delhi and Outside Delhi students. Students must secure marks in the test as per the cut off marks approved to get selected for counselling.

IPU CET 2020 Counselling

After the results declaration, qualified candidates are required to Print Provisional Allotment Letter and appear for counselling.

 

IPUCET 2020 Counselling will be held in two processes – Offline & Online. For the offline counselling, students have to visit the fixed venue separately, pay the fee, get the papers verified and lock the seats. It will be held for different medical and PGMC programmes.

 

The online counselling will be held for different courses – B.Tech, BBA, BCA, BCOM, BJMC, LLB, BED, MBA, MCA, etc. Complete details of counselling will be notified online.

Online Counselling

  • Students have to pay INR 1000 as fee for either mode i.e. online or offline.
  • Registration will be done two days after the payment of counselling fee.
  • Students can fill choices in the order of preferences, for allotment from the list of all institutes and programs available.
  • Candidates will get edit/modify/add/delete preferences options only after allotment of seat in the first round for the subsequent round of counselling.
  • Students can fill choices in the order of preferences, for allotment from the list of all institutes and programs available.
  • After getting the seat, candidates will pay the part of Academic Fee i.e. INR 40,000.
  • Students can fill choices in the order of preferences, for allotment from the list of all institutes and programs available.
  • Carry original documents for verification.

Offline Counselling

  • Qualified candidates have to go to the counselling venue with all the required documents.
  • Students have to mark their presence to the officer. During the first round of counselling, the candidates are called on rank/merit basis.
  • Submit the counselling fee and collect admission receipt from the admission officer.
  • Secure the allotted seat by making the fee payment in the next step.
  • Offline mode (cash/cheque) is not accepted.
  • Students cannot change the allotted seat in subsequent days for the first round of counselling, but can change in the second round of counselling after payment of INR 5000 by demand draft drawn in favour of “Registrar Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University payable at New Delhi”.

IPU CET 2020 - Frequently Asked Questions

Ans 1. In case a candidate wants to get admission in the undergraduate course, he/she must have secured 55% aggregate in class XII from any recognized board. To gain admission into a postgraduate course, a candidate must have scored 55% aggregate in their Bachelor’s degree.

Ans 2. Yes. To get admission into IPU CET, student should not be less than 18 years of age but also not more than 21 years of age for an undergraduate course. A student should not be less than 21 years of age to be eligible to gain admission in a postgraduate course.

Ans 3. Candidates should not be more than 45 years of age to apply for IPU CET.

Ans 4. For all IPU CET examinations, the duration of the exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes except for B.Tech and M.A. English where the timing of the exam will be 3 hours. IPU CET, as based on the last year’s exam pattern, will be conducted in a pen-paper based through offline mode.

Ans 5. Candidates must go to the IPU CET Examination Centre along with a hard copy of their Admit Card and a valid identity proof.

Ans 6. Candidates must reach to the IPU CET Examination Centre 2 hours prior to the examination.

Ans 7. You can select multiple courses under the same category in a single Application Form. Though, to select various courses across the categories, you have to fill the separate Application Form under separate registration.

Ans 8. No, merely appearing for IPU CET does not ensure that a candidate gets to appear for the counselling session for admission into GGS IPU programs. Candidates need to score at least the specific Cut off score in order to be eligible to be shortlisted for the counselling process. The cut off list is released individually for all the academic programs offered by the university.

Ans 9. Applicants need to carry in person one Government approved Photo ID along with the Admit Card to the test venue on the exam date. Applicants who are not carrying suitable Photo IDs will not be allowed to appear for the test.

Ans 10. Yes, there are specific age-related criteria for different programs, such as:

    • Undergraduate Program applicants’ age should be in the range of 17 – 21 years
    • MBBS/BDS applicants should not be beyond the age of 25 years.
    • Bachelor of Vocation applicants should not be beyond the age of 45 years.
